Why a Podiatrist?
Unlike other types of foot specialists, we are continuously regulated by the HCP (Health Care Professionals) Council, which amongst other benefits allows us to work autonomously- meaning we can assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of foot and ankle conditions.
All clients of Podiatrists will have an initial comprehensive assessment by a specialist in their profession. This assessment will also check for any underlying issues, which if undiagnosed, may otherwise limit the effectiveness of treatment given.
One of the other key benefits of seeing a Podiatrist is their ability if neccessary to refer clients directly to appropriate specialists where needed, including Orthopedic Consultants for surgery, Orthotists for custom devices, and Musculoskeletal Specialists for gait analysis.Â
At Torbay Podiatry, over a number of years we have gained many quality contacts of specialist, trusted professionals in their fields, both in the private sector and the NHS. This network gives a patient access to the most streamlined, efficient pathway possible.
