£45 New Patient Assessment, including Treatment and Personalised Treatment Plan.
Corns are circular layers of thickened hard skin which form over boney areas under the foot, on toes and in between toes. Corns are often painful to walk on or when pressed and be made of hard or soft skin, it can feel as though you are walking on a pebble.
Corns can be caused by:
Foot shape,
Ill fitting footwear,
Activities that increase pressure on the foot,
Health conditions - diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, etc,
Poor foot health.
Treatment:
As podiatrists, we are able to offer treatments to maintain and reduce corns through treatments such as -
Debridement and enucleation - using a sterile scalpel to remove the corn,
Toe props and covers to reduce corns,
Offloading and felt padding,
Footwear assessment and advice.
In all cases, if needed, we can send a direct referral to your GP, or into Podiatry in the NHS,
We have seen it all at Torbay Podiatry!ry!
